STAMP: 'Heterophobia' by BisexualMarshMallow STAMP: 'Heterophobia' by BisexualMarshMallow
"HETEROPHOBIA: It doesn't fucking exist."

I had to make a stamp about this.

Let's get one thing clear:

Heterophobia isn't real. Here's why; straight people have yet to face discrimination for simply liking another sex.

The fact that you people are making this shit up just because a few queer people had hurt your feelings, like, once, it doesn't mean they're heterophobic.

Straight people already have the right to marry, have yet to be victims of a hate crime solely for their sexual attraction, and have never, ever, dealt with trying to "come out".

Straight people have it fucking easy. You are not oppressed for finding the another sex attractive.

Get over it.

To be more specific I think you're talking about institutionalized heterophobia as in buy n' large most of society is not heterophobic. That I do agree with but I just don't like the way you phrased it. Individuals can be heterophobic and thus the fear does exist, just not in in the majority of the population.

I think the point you're trying to make is that heterosexuals will likely never face discrimination for their sexuality and I'm very likely being a technical asshat.

This is completely unrelated to your stamp but yes. Randomly some of the show's songs came up recommended on my youtube and I was completly blown away. Not just the vocals but the little musical cues that play for Lapiz Lazuli and when Pearl fights Holo-Pearl. It felt like a jrpg soundtrack and eventually I caved in and started watching.

I'd describe it as anime pacing without anime style, like when they needed Rose's light canon or Pearl and Amethyst fusing together. It goes in a unique direction and has depth I previously thought impossible for a CN show. I haven't seen "Lion 3: Direct to Video" so please no spoilerinos.

-Sorry for the mini nerdout but I feel shows that don't treat kids like idiots deserve a lot more attention :)

It does exist, just not on an institutionalised level nor anywhere near the level homophobia (and all other sexuality-related phobias, which will all be referred to as "homophobia" henceforth). Mostly it's just annoying, irrational people on the Inter-web who think that being "heterophobic" somehow makes them for LGBT+ rights.

If you think about it, telling someone to die for being heterosexual (which is something that happens) is really no different than telling someone to die for being homosexual (or bisexual or asexual or what have you). "Heterophobia" just isn't (and hopefully never will be) as substantial and widespread and powerful as homophobia.

People should stop trying to sound so special just for having a word relating to being hated. Every -phobia is bad, whether there's a word for it or not. Discussion over.

I'm here to comment again, and I'm sorry, but I've grown more confident to say this.

straight people have yet to face discrimination for simply liking another sex.

I'm sorry that my life hasn't actually existed.

a few queer people had hurt your feelings

I'm sorry that being put in hospital for a fractured wrist or a broken nose is all about 'feelings'.

I am reading the comments and laughing my ass off. People think they have it hard haha
At a time in my life I thought I was straight. Crazy, I know, considering I hardly like the opposite gender anymore :P
But in school things went like this
*Gossiping at lunch table about relationships*
Me:"Let me tell you about my relationship with a member of the opposite sex!
Everyone: *scrambling to sit next to him/her* TELL ME MORE!!1!!1!!11!21!
When I started to, er, swing the other way about a year later.
Me: Let me tell you about my relationship with a member of the same sex!
-silence-

I've experienced a lot of different points on the sexuality spectrum, and I can tell you right fucking now that being heterosexual is the NORM and will not get you in a state of being oppressed, harassed, or denied rights.
People just want to be special snowflakes and be pitied.

O h my god how dumb can people get

dont get me wrong I am gay as fuck but have you even seen tumblr?

Straight people are being bashed just because they don't like the same gender, and that is fucking stupid.

you can hardly even find straight people nowadays because they are afraid that they will get shames simply because they like a different gender

it kind of makes me ashamed too be seen like the gay people on tumblr simply because gays hate straight people

god people these days

Pretty much all my friends are straight.
It's hard to find homosexuals.
Easy to find straights.
And way too easy to find Bisexuals.

 you said that perfectly
heterophobia does exist. it's just hard to find sometimes.
i once said on a poll that says do you agree with homosexuality "yeah i believe in gay rights, but as long as they don't force everybody to agree with it. if somebody says something the /slightest/ thing against homosexuality you get the entire fucking LGBT community come flying at you."
then some idiot reply started calling me a homophobe, disgusting, all straights deserve to die because apparently all straights hate gays, told me to join a baptist church, and that i might as well start slaughtering gays because i'm a disgrace to humanity.

Heterophobia doesn't have to be discrimination.

It's just hating straight people, and considering all the shit I've seen people say on tumblr I think it is real. Is it as bad as homophobia? Hell no. But just because something isn't as bad as something else doesn't make it right.

All it does is make us gay people look bad. And hey ever consider this? A lot of us actually like our straight family and friends and don't like seeing them insulted.

The comments = LMFAO
In regards to some of the comments:
Heterophobia only exists on Tumblr, and if you find it that bad shut off your damn computer. I'd love to live a life where the only discrimination and death threats I ever faced were fucking text on a website I could click the X button to get out of.
Another thing: Disliking fictional het pairings is NOT HETEROPHOBIA. There are straight people who dislike het pairings too, and gay people who dislike yaoi/yuri. And disliking yaoi/yuri doesn't make one a "homophobe" in people's eyes, so disliking fictional het should be the same thing.

Seriously, this is the fucking internet. This is a place where people troll others, bash and make hate blogs for innocent people, and brag about wanting to rape their family members. And you're surprised that things like this exist online and you take it seriously?

If an online sentence saying "I hate straight people" is the biggest form of discrimination you face, then you have no clue what real discrimination, devaluation, or invalidation is. If a straight person came up and told me "I hate gay people" that would be the most minor and miniscule form of homophobia I ever faced in my entire life. Even straight allies/supporters have said more disgusting things than that to me.

I should clarify that I don't hate straight people and I don't support what SJW's are doing. I find it disgusting and contradicting actually, and wishing death threats on someone is never okay. However, I'm also getting sick and tired of straight people declaring "heterophobia" over any negative comment directed toward them even if It's obviously an innocuous vent that doesn't apply to all straight people. Straight people as a whole (and I bet every single straight person that commented here has done this) can say really disgusting heterosexist things and no one even bats an eye. This is the very definition of privilege.

And my feelings on the matter have nothing to do with my sexuality. I'm cisgendered and I don't believe cisphobia exists, nor do I take any "cis hate" on tumblr seriously. Trans people have every right to resent my group and I'm going to look like a complete moron if I think that my gender identity is "discriminated" against or that any "hate" I endure is on an equal level to transphobia.

Seriously, when has anyone ever been discriminated against for being straight?  So many people in these comments keep saying how it happens all the time, but where is this happening?  What is happening?  It seems every single form of "discrimination" I've ever seen straight people face is either a different form of discrimination unrelated to their straightness, or someone being called out on saying something shitty.  All these people going on about how often straight people face discrimination just for being straight... when does this ever happen?!

It doesn't now, but overly agressive activists can create it. It's just that their amount isn't comparable to amount of homophobic people, but it's a matter of time.

I've seen some gay people making fun of straight people. Nobody cares about that. Of course, non-straight people are made fun of for not being straight.

the reason nobody cares about people who arent straight making fun of straight people is because straight people have power over non-straight people. non-straight people are harassed and killed for their orientations but straight people aren't harassed and killed for being straight. sure, they can be over different things, but not for being straight. the worst that straight people will get for being straight is non-straight people making jokes about straight people on the internet
